Curtiss-Wright to Support Remote US Air Force Missions Through PacStar Integrated Solution
The U.S. Air Force will deploy Curtiss-Wright’s PacStar integrated solution, designed for tactical networking and connectivity in rugged and remote environments worldwide, in its Theater Deployable Communications program.
Along with the PacStar solution, Curtiss-Wright will also provide the Air Force with its Commercial Solutions for Classified integration under a $16 million task order that the company received from Iron Bow Technologies, the TDC program’s main contractor. The products for Air Force deployment have the Department of Defense Information Network’s approval for global operations, Curtiss-Wright said.
The contract extends up to the end of 2027 and has a lifetime value estimated to exceed $60 million, the company added. The main contractor, Iron Bow, was tasked to deliver TDC Agile Communications Packages comprising voice and data networking services to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base to connect command and control centers, theater air bases and other facilities.
Lynn Bamford, Curtis-Wright chairperson and CEO and a Wash100 award winner, described the contract as a significant USAF deployment of the company’s agile communications platform, adding to previous support to the U.S. Army and Marine Corps modernization.
Curtiss-Wright expanded its product portfolio to include the tactical PacStar communication platform after it acquired Pacific Star Communications for $400 million in September 2020.
