GSA Awards Over 300 Positions on ASTRO Contract Vehicle
More than 300 companies, including contracting giants and small businesses, have secured spots on the General Services Administration’s ASTRO indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The 10-year, billion-dollar IDIQ covers work for the operation and maintenance of robotics and unmanned systems, as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms. GSA is expected to award up to 450 contracts under the contract vehicle.
Contractors selected for the IDIQ are split into 10 pools or scope areas, FedScoop reported.
The data operations pool comprises 36 companies, including Alion Science and Technology, BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services, Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte Consulting, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Huntington Ingalls Industries. Tasks awarded under the pool cover data collection and processing activities associated with platforms supporting mission performance for land, air, sea or space.
Companies such as Berry Aviation, Construction Helicopters, DynCorp International, ECS Federal, LinQuest and Northrop Grumman make up the mission operations pool, which focuses on non-data collection and analysis services needed by military platforms.
Contractors belonging to the development/systems integration pool will compete for the opportunity to provide systems engineering in support of military platforms. Those companies are 4D Tech Solutions, CGI Federal, Gryphon Technologies, Jacobs Technologies and Mantech Advanced Systems International.
The training pool consists of organizations such as Apogee Engineering, Battelle Memorial Institute, Crew Training International and PAE Applied Technologies. They will be tasked with providing training services to facilitate the successful execution of products, programs, projects or processes associated with military platforms.
Maintenance, repair and overhaul of domain-specific military platforms will be covered by contractors from the aviation, space, maritime and ground pools.
GSA also awarded spots for the research and support pools.
