Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
Mr. Ardisson L. Lyons was appointed Director of the Science and Technology for the Defense Intelligence Agency on 24 August 2015. He served as the Deputy Director since September 2013.
Mr. Lyons’ previous assignment was the Deputy Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) ODNI. Other Recent assignments included Deputy Director Office of Technical Service (OTS) CIA and Director Special Communications Program Office (SCPO) CIA.
Mr. Lyons began his career in 1989 as an Electronic Engineer in the Office of Communications of the Central Intelligence Agency. During the following 25 years, he held assignments in three CIA Directorates and the ODNI in technical and managerial leadership roles of increasing scope. Hallmarks of his accomplishments are forward leaning technical programs and innovative collaborations across organizational boundaries.
Before joining CIA, Mr. Lyons completed five Co-Op assignments at E-Systems and Florida Power. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from George Mason University. Mr. Lyons was the 1998 CIA Engineer of the Year.
Mr. Lyons was born and raised in Florida and enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities. He and his wife Linda live in Northern Virginia.
