Mr. Eric Sanders serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). He is responsible for ensuring the DHS I&A Intelligence mission is secure, timely, and resilient through thoughtful, balanced risk management processes and controls. Previously, he led cybersecurity programs at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) where he served as CISO and Deputy CISO, respectively. At the NRO, Eric developed and delivered a modernized enterprise-wide audit platform and NRO’s first-ever Enterprise Cloud Cybersecurity Service to enable secure unclassified cloud and near real-time monitoring. At NGA, his accomplishments include architecting NGA’s innovative approach to the Risk Management Framework (known as REvAMP)— a risk-balanced approach to assessment and authorization that enables the deployment of DevSecOps capabilities at the speed of mission. He also laid the foundation for “ATO-in-a-day.” Eric’s educational background includes a B.S. in Computer Networking, an MBA, and graduate certificates in Cyber Warfare and Technology Management. His professional certifications include the CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GSTRT, CRISC, GCPM, MCSE, and CCSK.
